About the Author: A native of Oklahoma, Galen L. Geer served as a United States Marine in Korea and as a soldier journalist in the US Army’s Second Infantry Division. He was awarded a Korean Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal for his writing. He has worked as foreign correspondent for Soldier of Fortune magazine, covering the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. Currently, Galen Geer is the USA Editor for African Hunter magazine, Outdoor Editor for Soldier of Fortune magazine, and teaches English Composition at the University of North Dakota. He has received numerous awards from the Outdoor Writers Association of America.
